Privacy Policy

Our promise

This policy explains how Nilavu handles your personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). In short: we collect only what we need to prepare your reading, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

What we collect and why

Birth details (name, gender, date, time and place of birth), to calculate and write your report. This is the purpose you consent to when you submit the form.

Contact details (email), to deliver your report and provide support. No account or login is required.

Payment information, you pay by UPI; we store only the UPI reference (UTR) or payer UPI ID, amount and status.

Your optional question and language preference, to personalise the report.

Basic technical data (device type, pages visited, cookies), to keep the site secure and understand what helps families most. See the cookie section below.

How long we keep it

Reports and the birth details behind them are kept so your report link keeps working, for up to 3 years or until you ask us to delete them.

Payment records are kept for 8 years as required by Indian tax and accounting law.

Contact-form messages are kept for 1 year.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data and never share it with advertisers.

We use trusted processors only to run the service: our cloud hosting provider (secure storage in India or with adequate safeguards), an email provider (delivery), and an AI provider that receives chart data without your name or contact details to write the plain-language explanation.

We may disclose data if required by Indian law or a court order.

Your rights under the DPDP Act

You have the right to access a summary of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to withdraw consent, and to have it erased. You may also nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.

To use any of these rights, or to raise a grievance, write to our Grievance Officer at support@nilavu.app. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Children: our service is for adults. A parent or guardian must provide any details of a person under 18.

Cookies and analytics

We use local storage to remember your language and whether you have seen the welcome offer, and Meta Pixel / Google Analytics to understand which pages help visitors. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time.

Security and contact

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and access is limited to staff who need it. If a data breach ever affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as required by law.
